Where are we talking from today?
Pacific Grove, California.
What is your take on politics?
Probably Democrat at this point–Believe it is time for woman President. Addressing climate change of most importance and not happy that the current administration isn’t addressing climate change.
Growing up, how important has music been in your life? Can you recall the moment when you decided that you wanted to be a musician? Was it an easy or difficult choice to make?
Growing up I took some piano lessons but never really got serious about music until taking up guitar at 16. Although I never really earned much money I enjoy playing and writing was an easy choice to make.
What has been the biggest surprise so far about making music your career? What has been an unexpected or welcome challenge to it all?
A big surprise has been that many decades went by with no composing and at 60 started writing a lot [now 71]. Some of my better work in the last ten years. I had serious health issues for several years–never even picked up a guitar or played piano but had a full recovery and been playing since 2007.
At the end of the day, what do you hope people take away from your music?
Leave humming my music and IT’S A BEAUTIFUL MORNING is one people compliment on when I play live. I think far too much over stimulating music out there- I want to calm people down and soothe their soles.
