Where are we talking from today?
Fam Band “rings” out of the Nasty Nati, or as some call it, Cincinnati, which is in the southwest corner of Ohio. BGutt and I were both born in the Nati and went to middle and high school together. Life
took us to many cities but we both ended up back in the Nati with a passion to crank out fun tunes.
Where did you get your artist’s name from?
We considered many options for band names but Fam Band, albeit a bit bland on the surface, summed us up perfectly because everyone who participates in making our tunes are all indeed family members in some way. BGutt and AK77 are brothers-in-law and they are the staples of Fam Band, and we team up with other family members on various tracks. For instance, you will hear some background vocals by BGutt’s 9-year-old son Levi on “Escape from Ohio.” You’ll also hear harmonica by my little brother Jordon “Frankly Speaking” Schneider on “Escape from Ohio” and he drops some guitars and vocals on our track called “Pushin’ On” releasing this October. Also, we are trying to keep this project light, simple, and fun so
we aren’t overthinking anything. If we like it, we ship it.
Music-wise what all are you working on right now?
This year we committed to releasing a track every month no matter what and at the end of the year taking all the tracks and releasing an album – with a few bonus tracks too. BGutt and I got lots of kids to feed so getting together once a month is not so easy, but we are happy to say that we are on track to deliver on our goal. Right now we are finalizing the mix for Pushin On’ featuring Jordon “Frankly Speaking” Schneider which we are excited about.
As a musician, what is your definition of success?
Having fun making music with the people we love.
Where would you like to be in 10 years?
At our age and in this day and time, we hope we’re still alive and kicking… and if we’re really lucky we will still, be making beautiful sounds with the people we love.
