Awesome Interview With Arsen From Poem

Where are we talking from today?

We’re talking from a city by the sea called Odessa, Ukraine. A rather unique place that lives by its own rules and leaves its mark on everyone who ever lived here.

Where did you get your artist’s name from?

I always found poetry to be a bittersweet experience. The beauty of the words is often on par with the tragedy of the depicted topic and I find it to be the same case with life. You won’t be able to find happiness without sadness and no matter how fun and bright the story may be, it will always end with the death of the protagonist. And still the story makes you look far away into the stars, wandering and searching for who-knows-what that you know you desperately need.

Music-wise what are you working on right now?

We’re currently working on a second song for Poem. As for now, I can tell that it comes from personal experience, as well as Silhouettes and – in some ways – builds up on top of our first single. On top of that, we’re still in the process of making some additional content for our current release.

What do you enjoy doing most?

Depends on the state of mind at the moment. But it’s usually something I can do on my own without anyone bugging me. I have a pretty small social battery and it tends to wear out fast so I need to recharge it frequently. When I manage to get my alone-time it’s either making music, playing videogames or reading.

Where would you like to be in 10 years?

Somewhere more stable in terms of mental health. I’d like to properly treat my ADHD and fully recover from the chronic depression that led me to create Poem, in the first place. Aside from that, I’d prefer the United States or Europe. Japan sounds like a good idea, but I don’t think I’ll be able to stay there for long without going nuts. But as long as I can share my music with people that may find it helpful – any place will do.
